EUGENE, Oregon (March 19, 2026) – Congresswoman Val Hoyle just voted against the Deporting Fraudsters Act of 2026, siding with illegal immigrants who commit public benefits fraud and exposing, once again, that she is not a moderate and not working for working families in Oregon. She voted in lockstep with the same far-left bloc as Reps Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Maxine Dexter, and Janelle Bynum to protect fraudsters instead of protecting vulnerable American citizens.
The bill establishes that public benefits fraud, identity theft, and related document fraud are legal grounds for deportation and inadmissibility. It is basic common sense that demonstrates concern for our citizens. Public benefits should be protected for the Americans that fund them and that they are intended to serve, including single working parents, entry-level servicemembers of our armed forces, and elderly citizens living on fixed incomes in a distressed economy. Instead, Hoyle joined every Democrat in Oregon’s congressional delegation in voting NO.
“Our current Representative, Val Hoyle, wants Oregon Republicans, Independents, and voters who choose not to affiliate with any political party to believe she is a moderate lawmaker, but this vote, and most of her votes, blow her lies apart,” said Monique DeSpain. “Hoyle voted with AOC, Maxine Dexter, and Janelle Bynum to protect illegal immigrants who commit public benefits fraud. While single moms, young servicemembers in our armed services, and seniors are trying to make ends meet, Val Hoyle is siding with fraudsters and the radical left. That is outrageous, and it is exactly why Oregon cannot afford to send her back to Congress.
“Hoyle’s vote is not compassionate. It is reckless and offensive. It puts taxpayer-funded benefits at greater risk, weakens accountability, undermines our justice system, and proves she shares the priorities of the far-left pro-criminal extremists running today’s Democrat Party. Oregonians deserve a representative who will protect taxpayer dollars, defend vulnerable American citizens, and deport illegal immigrants who commit fraud – not another radical who votes with AOC 96% of the time and pretends to be a moderate at home during campaign season. When I am elected to represent Oregon’s 4th District, my votes will be in support of Oregonians and our businesses - not against them.”
Monique DeSpain launched her campaign for Congress on October 1st and is running to bring accountability, stronger public safety, and common-sense leadership to Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District after years of failed leadership from career politicians like Val Hoyle.
