Monique DeSpain Launches Campaign for Oregon's 4th Congressional District To Unseat Corrupt Career Politician Val Hoyle

Eugene, OR — This morning, Monique DeSpain launched her campaign for Congress in OR-04, setting up a rematch to unseat incumbent Val Hoyle in November 2026 and bring about a safer, more prosperous Oregon. Her announcement features the following launch video:

“I am proud to announce my campaign to serve as your Congresswoman for Oregon’s 4th Congressional District and to unseat corrupt career politician Val Hoyle,” said Monique DeSpain.

“I am running again because I refuse to give up on the people of this District. Oregon has endured too many tough years as Hoyle and Oregon’s political elites have delivered rampant homelessness, unsafe streets, rising prices, and declining living standards. It’s time for Oregon’s comeback—and as an outsider to our failed political system, I am ready to lead it. With our collective Oregonian persistence and determination, we will prosper once again and protect our future generations.”

“As a retired Air Force Colonel who served our nation for 30 years, and as a mom who raised twin boys in Eugene, I am ready to end the disastrous policies and corrupt conduct of the career politician who has failed us these past three years. Oregonians need and deserve better. I will provide real leadership – leading with strength, restoring prosperity, lowering costs, fighting crime to keep our families safe, and demanding honesty and accountability in Washington. The future of Oregon is bright, and I am committed to leading us there.”

In 2024, Val Hoyle was exposed as the ringleader of a pay-to-play scheme to strong-arm the illegal BOLI grant of over $500,000 for La Mota’s nonprofit Endeavor in exchange for campaign contributions, which earned her an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice. Most recently, in September 2025, Hoyle admitted to blatantly violating the STOCK Act by failing to report over 200 stock trades for more than a year while enriching her personal assets by over 400% in less than three years.

Monique DeSpain is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, mother of twin boys, and public policy advocate who resides in Eugene, Oregon. She was the 2024 Republican nominee for Oregon’s 4th Congressional District, running to unseat incumbent Congresswoman Val Hoyle to bring about a safer, more prosperous Oregon.
