DeSpain Offers Hope To Struggling Small Businesses, In Contrast To Val Hoyle’s 14 out of 100 NFIB Rating
Eugene, OR – Today, Monique DeSpain received the endorsement of the leading group representing the voice of Oregon small and independent business owners, the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB), with over 1000 member businesses in Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District. DeSpain’s opponent, incumbent Representative Val Hoyle, has received a dismal 14 out of 100 rating based on her voting record in Congress on key legislation impacting small businesses.
“Monique DeSpain has a demonstrated record of leadership and service,” said Anthony Smith, NFIB Oregon State Director. “Her impressive background and valuable experience will make her a reliable ally who is willing to stand up for small business priorities. We are confident Monique DeSpain will champion pro-small business policies in Congress, and we are proud to endorse her today.”
“Monique DeSpain will be an advocate for small businesses across Oregon,” said Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director. “She understands the issues important to NFIB members and has pledged to make them a priority in Congress. We are proud to endorse her today and look forward to working together.”
“I am truly honored to have the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business,” stated DeSpain. “Small and independent businesses are the pillars of economic prosperity and job creation in our communities, but they haven’t had an ally in our current Congresswoman, who has repeatedly turned a blind eye to their struggles. Once deployed to Washington, D.C., I will be a representative who will listen and work tirelessly to reduce obstacles to growth for these hardworking men and women as they lead their businesses to success in the Fourth District.”
NFIB is the voice of small business, advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington, D.C. and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB is nonprofit, nonpartisan, and member-driven. Since its founding in 1943, NFIB has been exclusively dedicated to small and independent businesses and remains so today.
